Fatal Kiss won for Best Screenplay at The AFFMA International Film Festival. It also won for Best Director and Best Actor at ScreamFest.
Fatal Kiss signed a two year licensing agreement with HBO/Cinemax for broadcast rights.
Joe O. It also received the Award Of Merit/Documentary Feature at The Accolades Film Competition, and a Gold Remi Award For Theatrical Feature Religious Documentary at The Worldfest International Film Festival.
The documentary follows the Dominican Order of Friars from Spain as they spread the Catholic faith throughout the American Southwest during the late 1800's. It cites their survival in a harsh land, facing hostile natives and discrimination, yet persevering through it all. The documentary also highlights the last two Dominican Friars who kept the Dominican Order of Catholic Masses and celebrations in South Texas for 82 years before retiring and returning to their native Spain.

Joe O. Barrera has composed and recorded the music score for the television pilot Alphus: The Roller Skating Scientist, produced by JBM Pro Video in association with Don't Tell Productions. Final dubbing with sound effects, dialog, and music was recorded at Sonic Magic Studios in Culver City, CA. The pilot will have its premiere for cast, crew, and friends at The Silent Theater on Fairfax Ave. in West Los Angeles before meeting with Comedy Central and G4 Television.
Joe O. Barrera is one of the Executive Producers (along with Mark Lowentrout and David Schreiber) for The Art Institute of CA-LA on the YouTube web series Pensado's Place. The show is rated 7th on YouTube web series internationally, and features famed mixing engineer Dave Pensado along with co-host Herb Trawick. Guests include recording and mixing engineers, record producers, recording studio owners, and authors publishing works about the music industry. Herb Trawick also acts as Executive Producer for Penwick Media along with Producer Will Thompson. Joe joined the web series as one of the Executive Producers starting with episode #65.
Joe O. Barrera has completed composing and recording the scores for three PSA's. Two are for the Train 4 Autism Foundation, an organization committed to raising awareness and funds for research and treatment for those living with autism and their families. Barrera of Bar Scoring Productions has been set to compose the score for the motion picture The Resurrection Of Lawford Bertolucci, currently in pre-production, directed by Matt Johnson and produced by Crosswalk Dreamer Productions. The Resurrection Of Lawford Bertolucci is a heart-felt comedy about a small town plumber who thinks he is the reincarnation of a famous opera star who died 30 years earlier.
